Presentation: Healthy Self-esteem

Health Self-esteem: Discovering our own personal value, and learning to celebrate what makes us who we are.

Many people struggle with low self-esteem. We are bombarded with messages from within and without, telling us that we just aren't good enough. We are told to connect our worth to our performance or our appearance, and we can be drawn into a constant game of comparisons, where we either look down on others, or ourselves. Bob and Helga Edwards plan to share information to help overcome messages and patterns that undermine our sense of worth. They will also address how to help children develop healthy self-esteem.

Bob and Helga have been married since 1988 and have been Public Speakers and Therapists since 1996. Both have Bachelors’ degrees in Religious Education and Social Development Studies, and Masters’ degrees in Social Work. They plan to speak from their professional training and to include some helpful biblical principles in their presentation.

This is an information session; those in attendance will not be required to share any personal information.

This event will be held at Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church (in the chapel), 245 Lexington Rd. Waterloo. There will be an opportunity for a free-will offering.
